Pattaya (Part 2) – The Last Night
Here’s a quick recap: I went to Pattaya on a fully sponsored business trip with one of our clients in 2022. If you haven’t read the first part, CLICK HERE to read the full blog post.
Welcome to Day 2 – the day of the main dealer meet. During the day, our time was spent shooting videos for the compilation we were preparing for our client. After lunch we prepped for the evening show. We reached the Trillion Club around 4.30pm local time and eventually the doors opened for the guests, the dealers. During the welcome speech by our client, we realised the big screen was not functioning. Apparently someone screwed with the club’s main DJ console and their screens went out of sync, the picture was broken. Utsav to the rescue – I was called for help and I rushed to the console on the third deck. After several trials I just took a drastic step and cross connected the display cables. It worked! It was party time.
Just for the info, Trillion Club is in the Walking Street near the Tony’s by Nashaa Club which I will talk about later in this blog. So the party started with Thai girls warming up the stage followed by a Russian dancer. I don’t wish to elaborate on the greedy faces of the Indian middle aged men but what I shall definitely talk about is the absolute tasty food at the club. I got my chance to bite at the amazing mix of Thai and Indian cuisine after the kitchen was closed. Yeah! You read that right. Apparently I was busy getting some footage for the compilation and by the time I was finished working and drinking, the kitchen was closed and the entire club had already had dinner. It was around 11pm. I was drunk to the brink of my throat and Mr. Uppal very generously arranged for my food. I totally relished it.
After having food and clicking some pictures together, we headed out for our hotel. But wait, this was the last night. Was that all? Let me set the scene for you – Pattaya, Walking Street, almost midnight, drunk group of Punjabis and Bongs – the night was not over.
Mr. Uppal invited four of us to Tony’s by Nashaa club. By the time we could decide anything else while walking down the lane, a group of Indian bouncers who spoke Punjabi almost forced us inside the club by asking us to “vibe check“. We went inside. Loud music, hundreds dancing on the beats, drinking and many local girls trying to spot their buyers for the night.
After a while, we secured a lounge for ourselves at one of the less prominent corners from where we could experience the music but no one would bother us. We chilled, mixed up drinks by mistake and danced to our hearts content. By the time it was 2am, I was found myself grooving on Rang De Basanti with an unknown Indian uncle who had come with his girlfriend and son in law. “Wait what?” I said to myself as I realised, the wolves of Pattaya see no boundaries.
Two beautiful ladies approached us for a night out. We rejected their offer very respectfully and one of the girls requested a drink with us at our lounge. Quick fact – these clubs are very costly and you get a lounge only when you are in a group and you have the spending power to sponsor drinks for your group and random strangers who might come to you for sexual interest or otherwise. Our client was resourceful. We weren’t. So we walked out of the lounge and kept dancing. I remember going Live on Facebook at 2.30am.
That was probably the only night when I had fish for dinner and drank like a fish. At 3am the club closed and we were pushed outside because our we could hear the music still playing in our heads and we kept dancing. We walked back to our hotel, a few kilometres from the club. When we reached, I was shocked to see the same pair of girls who approached us were already there, with one of the uncles of our group.
I said to Anindam, ‘Kalyug’! The night ended at 5am. In a few hours we were to head out for Bangkok. However we managed to get a 3 hours sleep. Next morning, I had flashes of memories from the previous night. My eyes were sleep deprived. I grabbed a packet of yogurt and sat in the cab that took us to our next destination before reaching home – Bangkok.
